Why should high shrinkage fibers be mixed in the production process of non-woven needle punching machine?

In the production process of non-woven needle punching machine, high shrinkage fibers, such as polyvinyl chloride fibers, are mixed into the fiber web. After needle punching, it can be treated with hot air, steam or hot water to increase the density of needle punched non-woven materials.

Depending on product density requirements, the content of high shrinkage fibers in the web can vary widely. If the content of high shrinkage fibers in the fiber web is 80%, the shrinkage rate after heat treatment can reach 50%.

The method can increase the density of the needle-punched non-woven material, reduce the needle-punching marks on the surface, and has good resistance to repeated bending and layering, and is suitable for use as a synthetic leather base fabric. However, since the high shrinkage fibers lose most of their strength due to structural changes during heat treatment, the product strength and dimensional stability are insufficient.
